Biography
Tim McCalmont is a pastor in Costa Mesa, California, having been in the ministry for more than thirty years. He has been the pastor at the Presbyterian Church of the Covenant since 1994 after leading churches in Seattle, Washington and Downey, California. He grew up in Hollywood as part of the Hollywood Presbyterian Church where he met and married his wife Ruth in 1970. He received his degree at Fuller Theological Seminary and was ordained at the Hollywood church in 1977. Tim and Ruth have three kids, all grown, and now are blessed with two grandchildren.
He enjoys preaching in a blended worship experience each week and loves to teach the Bible in groups that allow for interaction and prayer together. His passion is to serve Christ and to build his church in ways which make caring relationships available to each person.
Interests
In his leisure time Tim enjoys playing golf, shooting outdoor photography and watching baseball and basketball. His favorite authors are Eugene Peterson, N.T. Wright and C.S. Lewis. He is hooked on the music of Bob Dylan, and Coldplay, the harmonies of Brian Wilson and has a growing affinity for the work of MercyMe and David Wilcox.
